Meze lunch on a Saturday in Marylebone. We moved in to our flat this morning and thought it would be new to treat my dad to lunch after he had helped with all the lifting.Not really knowing the area we decided to pop in to a meze restaurant - Topkapi. We went for the super cheap £7 two course lunch! £7! So cheap 

The food was good, the portions were enough - the service sadly was rather rude and blunt. 

It was however very good value £30 for three of us!

Great spot for a quick, cheap bite to eat in central London. 

A coke 3 teas, burger and salad was £22 is say that's quite good value for central london!

I just love it here! I live the good u love the area and most if all I live the rooftop! Come rain or shine is london's hidden gem! 

Tonight we used a friends taste card and for a starter, main and glass of wine it was only £16! each - not bad hey! 

Any way - go, go, go you won't regret it x

Oh and the meze for two is great value at £17 per person.

Still on no carbs our lovely waiter sorted me some chopped veg to dip in my houmous.

Amazing beef! Go and try it now! Really enjoyed our lunch her last sunday. The waiter was brilliant the food was great. the menu was good, but of course this all comes at a cost - word to the wise this isn't cheap eats and that was with out booze, but well worth it I'd say. 

When in Selfridges and you want to eat go to Hicks!

We went for the lobster and sadly it was rather disappointing. The wine list was great and our waiter was brilliant! 

Low carb egg muffins

I've been no carbbing it for over three months now and to say I am fed up with having m & s party sausages every morning is a massive understatement! So I have been on the hunt for something different, tasty and low carb ... The answer (i think is these egg muffins). 

I very simply scrambled 10 eggs

  Grated courgette

Chopped onion 

Chopped red pepper 

Lardons 

And grated cheese 

I bought some cupcake cases and oiled then added the mixture and in the oven for 15mins at 180 

They are almost totally carb free! 

Love it 

 Also I read somewhere you can freeze them too! 

These are veggie ones for the low calorie boyfriend they came out far more impressive than mine? 

home made scones

So I made these this afternoon after seeing the super easy recipe in the kenwood chef food processor website. Mum dug out her old kenwood for me and i thought i would see what they had to say - they have a few recipes ideas on their site so i thought - it'll only take 10mins...


and it did. they werent great but they are ok. super quick to make.

I had already planned to make banana loaf so got cracking on that- again i used the food processor - this went terribly wrong... i for one turn the grill on thinking i had turned the oven on! stupid stuipd me!

so a few hours later i make another one. This one is an improvement but still a bit uncooked looking in the middle?? any who i am still on no carbs (week 4 i think!) so i havent even tried either of them.

Dinner at le Tollbooth Essex




We had dinner here last weekend for my dad's 70th birthday. It was, I must say a real treat!

Great service, although my dads's wine glass was left empty once or twice for maybe a few minutes longer than it should but apart form that the service was lovely- friendly and professional.

The menu was good not brilliant and I mean that from a personal point of view. The food was enjoyed by all and I will most defiantly be going back for more. Especially now I know they do a roast on a Sunday!

I shared the chateaubriand with my mum, medium rare and it was just to die for!
