The humble car picnic

'Car picnics' ... you can't get in the car for a journey longer than an hour and a half without a 'car picnic'!  Well thats what I think anyway. 


Today I drove to Manchester from Essex, we left at 6.15 this morning - yes you read correctly, well it is bank holiday and even with a 'car picnic' no one wants to be in the car longer than they have to. 


We had a whole pack of Lucozade, 4 crusty bread rolls with chicken, tomato and mayonnaise, chocolate fudge bars x4, a large bag of chessey crisps, cold cooked sausages and cherry scones with butter! Needless to say we were fully stocked for our 3 and a half hour car trip. Oh, did I mention it was just 2 of us in the car.


It seem's to me that the humble 'car picnic' is massively underrated, I would say even unknown to some! Those poor souls. 


So next time you plan your road trip be sure to pack a 'car picnic' to help make it a more enjoyable experience for all.
